Pledge Prize Rules & Regulations

How to Enter & Contest Closing Date: Collect a minimum of $100 in pledges for the Ismaili Walk for Women 2009. In order to be eligible, pledges must be received at the Ismaili Walk Registration Desk in Stanley Park by 12pm on 27th September 2009, or sent to BC Women’s Hospital and Health Centre Office postmarked 27th September 2009 or earlier. Online pledges must be made by 26th September 2009 in order to be eligible.

Prize Closing & Eligibility: Pledge prizing is open to all individual residents of the Lower Mainland. Anyone who submits a pledge will receive a pledge prize if they collect the minimum amount specified per the corresponding pledge category. Entries will be categorized according to the total dollar amount in pledges collected. Entrants will receive one prize in the corresponding pledge prize category only -
prizes are not cumulative, except for higher level categories where stated.

Receipt of Prizes: All individual and team prizes must be picked up at BC Women’s Hospital and Health Centre Foundation office between Monday, October 5th 2009 and Friday, October 16th, 2009. Alternatively, you may call the BC Women’s Hospital and Health Centre Foundation at 604-875-2270 to discuss delivery of your prize.

Errors and Omissions Accepted: BC Women’s Hospital and Health Centre Foundation and its prize sponsors are not responsible for printing, distribution or production errors and may, at their discretion, withdraw this contest if it is found to contain any such error, without liability to anyone whatsoever.

Prize sponsors reserve the right to make changes and/or substitutions to, or withdraw or terminate a prize at any time without prior notice. All contest rules and regulations are subject to change without prior notice.

Selection of Winners: A random draw of all qualifying entries will be held on 27th September 2009. The contest judges will make a minimum of two (2) attempts to contact each selected entrant by telephone. Entrant(s) who cannot be contacted by the contest judges within 24 hours of selection, or who are otherwise unwilling or unable to comply with these rules will forfeit their prize. In the event of forfeiture, a replacement entrant will be selected from the remaining eligible entries.

Chances of Winning: The chances of being selected depend upon the number of qualifying entries received by the pledge closing date.

Release and Waiver: To win, all qualifying entrants must have completely filled out the pledge form and will be required to sign standard declaration and release forms confirming compliance with the Walk Prize rules and releasing BC Women’s Hospital and Health Centre, BC Women’s Hospital and Health Centre Foundation, Women’s Health Research Institute, the prize sponsors and their affiliated companies, their advertising and promotional agencies, prize suppliers, the contest judges and their respective employees, directors, officers, agents, representatives,
successors and assigns from any liability in connection with the contest and the prize. All declaration and release forms must be signed prior to pick up of the prize or the prize may be forfeited. In the event of forfeiture, a replacement entrant will be selected.

By submitting pledges, the entrant acknowledges, understands and accepts all rules and regulations as they pertain to this contest.

No Substitutions by Winners: Prizes must be accepted as awarded and have no cash equivalent. No substitutions for, or transfer of, any prize will be allowed. All prizes will be awarded only to confirmed winners. BC Women’s Hospital and Health Centre Foundation reserves the right to substitute an equivalent prize of equal or greater value if any prize or component cannot be awarded as described.

Decisions Final: All decisions made by BC Women’s Hospital and Health Centre Foundation with respect to all aspects of this contest are final and not subject to challenge.

No Liability: BC Women’s Hospital and Health Centre, BC Women’s Hospital and Health Centre Foundation and the Women’s Health Research Institute shall not be responsible in any way for loss or damage arising from the use of, or bear any liability whatsoever in any way attributable to, the prize awarded in this contest. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, BC Women’s Hospital and Health Centre Foundation and its prize sponsors assume no responsibility for any risk or dangers associated with the acceptance or use of the prizes awarded as part of this contest.

Entries belong to BC Women’s Hospital and Health Centre Foundation: All entries become the sole property of BC Women’s Hospital and Health Centre Foundation and will not be returned.

Lost entries: BC Women’s Hospital and Health Centre Foundation assumes no responsibility for lost, misplaced or misdirected entries.

Consent to use: By entering this contest, entrants consent to the use of their name and/or photograph, without payment or compensation other than the prize awarded.

Applicable Laws: This contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations and any dispute relating hereto will be determined by a British Columbia court applying British Columbia law and the laws of Canada as applicable therein.
